Beach Afternoon

Taking advantage of the great weather, our family. along with Godelieve and Harvey, headed up to the Cromer Lighthouse and then down  100+ steps to “our beach” between Cromer and Overstrand. (Not sure what the name of that part of beach is called, but we call it our beach.)

The kids first enjoyed a rocket popsicle in the warm sun.

When the tide rescinded there was an amazing stretch of rock free beach, along with a large area of water about 8″ deep, perfect for the kids to play safely.  Maebh & Soren said it was the “Biggest Muddy Puddle In The World” from Peppa Pigs book.

Nils and Soren went in a little bit, but Godelieve went for a full on swim.  Perhaps next time, I’ll go in too.

Then this little French Bull Dog came along and the kids threw buckets of water in the air for it to chase.  Nils tried to catch a few little fish in the pond, but the kids found a dead shrimp.

This is the bunch of sea glass for my collection.

When we were walked back home, there was an abundance of fog rolling it and lasted about an hour.

When the kids got back to our house, they played with the hose and bubbles in the garden.  I posted before that they always fight over who will have it the most, now we add another in the mix and then we have three kids who all want a go with the hose 🙂  We have to get a sprinkler and then they can just jump through it.

Maebh: “I’m not a baby Harvey!”

While they were messing about with the water, I was taking photos of bees & flowers.

Such a lovely afternoon at the beach – looking forward to many more this summer.

Author: Stars Stripes and Mayonnaise

I am an American currently living in the Netherlands. I enjoy snapping photos and blogging along the way about our family’s journey as we moved from USA to the UK for a couple years then onto Ireland for three & half years and now in our next adventure in the Netherlands where the kids and are are learning Dutch. As you can probably tell by the name of the blog “Stars, Stripes & Mayonnaise” our family is half American & half Dutch and if you know one thing about the Dutch is that they LOVE their mayonnaise! I seen ’em do it man, they fuckin‘ drown ’em in it. When I started this blog way when it was to capturing memories of our family – essentially a journal of our family adventures, their love of mayonnaise, my love of photography, D.I.Y., crafting, sea glass hunting and exploring with our two amazing kids.
