New Bunting: Outer Space for Blake’s 5th Birthday!

Instead of giving kids more craptastic, smelly plastic, no so fantastic toys, I thought I would do something more personal and give them something handmade. Whether it be a pillow or a bunting, something that they’ll (hopefully like) and that their parents will like too.  I would hope that they’d keep it for years and put in their memory box as they get older.  Perhaps this is a pipe dream, but I remember as a child, I had a satin pillow case… it was my favorite thing for a long time. When one side was too warm, I’d do the pillow flip – which I still do today!

Blake, who is Soren’s best pal in school, is turning five and having a Robot/Outer Space birthday party next weekend.  So I took advantage of being home on this drizzly day with Maebh and made him a coordinating bunting.  Hope it’s a big hit!

Author: Stars Stripes and Mayonnaise

I am an American currently living in the Netherlands. I enjoy snapping photos and blogging along the way about our family’s journey as we moved from USA to the UK for a couple years then onto Ireland for three & half years and now in our next adventure in the Netherlands where the kids and are are learning Dutch. As you can probably tell by the name of the blog “Stars, Stripes & Mayonnaise” our family is half American & half Dutch and if you know one thing about the Dutch is that they LOVE their mayonnaise! I seen ’em do it man, they fuckin‘ drown ’em in it. When I started this blog way when it was to capturing memories of our family – essentially a journal of our family adventures, their love of mayonnaise, my love of photography, D.I.Y., crafting, sea glass hunting and exploring with our two amazing kids.
