Buntings: Beehind The Seam

I’ve decided that I’m going to whip up a large batch of buntings in various sizes and colors/patterns.  They are very popular now as decorations for kids rooms, play rooms, houses, parties, beach huts, store windows, birthdays, new babies – really anywhere!  And as they are fabric, they’ll last and can be used again.

I have only limited fabrics at home, so I used the fabrics which I already own to create these three.   I hope to get some polka dots, stripes and flowers asap.  Perhaps a range of Cath Kidson would be fun too!  Plus I’ll need more binding tape or ribbon.  The ones I used for these three were picked up in Cromer.  One is much softer and better quality at 60 P per yard.  The other is 3 yards for 99 P.  I’m going to have a look online as I’m sure I could find it sooo much cheaper at Jaycotts, etc.

I’ve put these banners up on Folksy.com and started a Facebook Page – Feel free to “LIKE” it.

Here are some other buntings, I’ve seen online – some I like more than others, but you get the gist of how they are used in the home, garden, camper, etc.

Nursery:

Love all the different prints – might do something like this in Maebh’s room!

Little girl’s room:

Little boy’s room:

Playroom:

Beach Hut:

Cottage:

Inside the home:

Garden:

 Tea Party:

And just some random ones I found online:

I’m saving for an Olfa Quilt Making kit which includes a self-healing mat, ruler and rotary cutter which will make the hardest part – fabric cutting so much easier and faster!  It’s about £29 pounds in UK and $49 in the US but it’s different there – second cutter but no ruler.

Author: Stars Stripes and Mayonnaise

I am an American currently living in the Netherlands. I enjoy snapping photos and blogging along the way about our family’s journey as we moved from USA to the UK for a couple years then onto Ireland for three & half years and now in our next adventure in the Netherlands where the kids and are are learning Dutch. As you can probably tell by the name of the blog “Stars, Stripes & Mayonnaise” our family is half American & half Dutch and if you know one thing about the Dutch is that they LOVE their mayonnaise! I seen ’em do it man, they fuckin‘ drown ’em in it. When I started this blog way when it was to capturing memories of our family – essentially a journal of our family adventures, their love of mayonnaise, my love of photography, D.I.Y., crafting, sea glass hunting and exploring with our two amazing kids.
