Today Maebh and I, along with my Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law and her son, walked down to the Cromer Car Boot Sale near the hospital to see what it was all about.
It was a smaller scale car boot sale with about 20 or so “sellers” with stuff ranging from clothing, toys, housewares, plants and boxes and boxes of junk which they call sundries. I’m certain several of the boxes in one person’s set up was purchased at the James Beck Auctions in Fakenham, as I immediately recognized the old lady. In fact, I told her that I saw her there buying up all the boxes of sundries. They laughed and replied, “Yes and then we will see you there on Thursday?” Perhaps they will!
They had about 10 boxes in which each item was selling for 30 pence. It was in those boxes, which my MIL spotted this cute blue creamer & sugar bowl set and now they are mine!
In the next row, I picked up an clothes iron for 1.50, as I need it for my sewing projects and a Weight Watchers Summer recipe magazine for 20 pence.
After we took a walk into the town and enjoyed a cappuccino and scone at the Rocket House Cafe! I really love this cafe.. great food, nice atmosphere and awesome views of the Cromer Pier and fishing boats being pulled in by the tractors.
We normally go to a weekly play date in the town center on Tuesdays, but now I might have to start combing my walk to the play date with a quick stop in the car boot!
So far I’ve been to two car boot sales and the auction – I really love these bargains which I have found since being in the UK for six months!!
Perhaps one day I’ll myself be a “seller” at one of these car boots. I found this handy tips for sellers & buyers online.
