Cinnamon & French Toast Breakfast

I posted yesterday about how North Norfolk received about 3 inches of snow.  Well last night, another 4 inches of snow was dumped on us.  Back in Boston this would not be much, in fact, we’d just go dig it up and off we’d go.  But here in rural, North Norfolk it is a lot.  As the snow gritters (plows) had not come through our area (we live off a small road, off a secondary road) we couldn’t drive out today.  It is now nearly 2:30 pm and our side road had not be treated… hopefully we’ll be able to get around tomorrow.   So Nils and I thought lets let the boy have a snow day.  So early this am, I called Soren’s school and then decided to enjoy Cinnamon & Vanilla French Toast made by Soren aka Spiderman aka Jamie Oliver!  Afterwards we headed out for some FUN IN THE SNOW!

Looking a little wild as he cracks the first egg.
Crack Three Eggs
Add milk, cinnamon, vanilla and beat. Be sure to drape a towel over for added effect.
Drop in the bread.
Soak the bread
Carefully flip the bread.
Skillfully masters the tongs
Have mum put the pieces into hot, buttered fry pans.
Cook for 3 minutes.
Try not to get powdered sugar in your eye.
Add a mountain of snow and some Dutch pannekoken syrup and then enjoy!

Author: Stars Stripes and Mayonnaise

I am an American currently living in the Netherlands. I enjoy snapping photos and blogging along the way about our family’s journey as we moved from USA to the UK for a couple years then onto Ireland for three & half years and now in our next adventure in the Netherlands where the kids and are are learning Dutch. As you can probably tell by the name of the blog “Stars, Stripes & Mayonnaise” our family is half American & half Dutch and if you know one thing about the Dutch is that they LOVE their mayonnaise! I seen ’em do it man, they fuckin‘ drown ’em in it. When I started this blog way when it was to capturing memories of our family – essentially a journal of our family adventures, their love of mayonnaise, my love of photography, D.I.Y., crafting, sea glass hunting and exploring with our two amazing kids.
