4th of July Celebration

Each year during July 4th weekend, thousands of people decent upon Point Shirley for a couple beach days, lots of sun, drinks food, bbqs, the famous Horribles Parade and fiireworks.

This year, we had a special guest, my Great Uncle Geoffrey was in town for a week at a conference and decided to extend his trip by a few days to visit the family.   My parents, Hanaki, Jeff, Seth and Kayla were also here.  Unfortunatley Nils had to work for some time but lucky us, he was able to get out a little bit early and enjoy the night with us.

Soren absolutely loved the fireworks and the parade. During the parade he was dancing the music.  Then that night, we decided to keep him up for the “tire works”, which he LOVED!  All of them walked over to Coughlin Park to watch the “tireworks” but I stayed back here with the baby.  Soren was so excited to see them.  Next year, I’m sure it will be even more fun for him.

Author: Stars Stripes and Mayonnaise

I am an American currently living in the Netherlands. I enjoy snapping photos and blogging along the way about our family’s journey as we moved from USA to the UK for a couple years then onto Ireland for three & half years and now in our next adventure in the Netherlands where the kids and are are learning Dutch. As you can probably tell by the name of the blog “Stars, Stripes & Mayonnaise” our family is half American & half Dutch and if you know one thing about the Dutch is that they LOVE their mayonnaise! I seen ’em do it man, they fuckin‘ drown ’em in it. When I started this blog way when it was to capturing memories of our family – essentially a journal of our family adventures, their love of mayonnaise, my love of photography, D.I.Y., crafting, sea glass hunting and exploring with our two amazing kids.
